There is no doubting that Islamophobia is on the rise in Europe today. It is increasing on a daily basis - with every far right demonstation, negative media article and terrorist attack, Muslims are becoming more and more the subject of suspicion, fear and hatred.
We are pleased to inform you that the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe is launching a call for participants to a youth activity within the 2014 edition of the World Forum for Democracy: "From participation to influence: can youth revitalise democracy?, which will take place in Strasbourg on 31st October-6th November 2014.
As a result of this call, 300 young people, out of 75 which non-European, will be selected to participate in a youth meeting prior to the World Forum (31st October-3rd November, and to the World Forum itself (3rd-5th November).
The Council of Europe launches a call for participants for a training course for educators and teachers on combating hate speech online through human rights education. All interested candidates should fill in the online application form at http://youthapplications.coe.int/Application-forms. The training course will be carried out in French.
This TC will encourage the development of critical and democratic European Citizenship and support youth workers in the development and implementation of youth projects with a European Citizenship dimension; and it will introduce Erasmus+ Youth in Action.
The No Hate Speech Movement (NHSM) - youth campaign for human rights online - is a project being run by the Council of Europe’s youth sector between 2012 and 2015. Why this summer school?

The summer course at Bossey brings together young adults, 18-35 years of age from three Abrahamic religions. This year the summer course will take place 4-22 August 2014 focusing on the theme ‘Religions and Climate Change: Together Safeguarding Creation’.
TC combining non-formal learning with direct community work and active experience of open air workshop festival. An opportunity to share experiences and learn different approaches to youth work in cities when it comes to green urban activism.
YELC will take place in Prishtina, Kosovo from 13 July -18 July 2014 and will gather 26 young people aged 16-19 from ten countries. The two pillars of our training course are: enhancing youth leadership and exploring citizenship in a multicultural Europe.
